Generally, the harvest of highbush blueberries occurs from mid-July to late August.
Here in Quebec, all highbush blueberries are harvested by hand. The pickers move from plant to plant with a container attached to the waist and their nimble fingers, gently go look for ripe fruit, a task which requires great skill since all fruits fail to mature at the same time. They can spend two or three times in a single plant during the season. Blueberries are then inspected, placed in containers and placed in charge.
